This years Scouting Combine was the first of its kind for Hening, and all things considered it was a success. The only 2 events to be recorded were the agility drill(L drill) and the 40 yd dash. We will have a secondary combine after the conditioning period so each kid can see their improvements. The results were as follows:

The 2014 Season is just about here! In a week our Hening Redskins will take the practice field for the first time this season. This is exciting for us coaches because all the planning and effort we have already invested into this season can finally be put into action. Just a reminder, any parent and coach/parent that hasn’t completed the 2014 Hening Football Questionnaire please try to do so before the first day of practice. The data collected in the questionnaire allows the coaches to make informed decisions to match the kids want with the teams needs. This also gives the coaches a profile on each kid when jersey numbers are selected and when team apparel is ordered. Lastly I want to inform all players and coaches the the 2014 playbooks has been uploaded to the site. We encourage all team member is browse through them at your leisure. We want to use this team page as an open forum that all players, parents and coaches can use to pass ideas and/or concerns about the direction of the team. Let’s make this year THE YEAR!!! See you all on Aug. 2nd.

The season is right around the corner and so is our 2014 Hening Scouting Combine. The combine will be held on the first day of practice as our way to evaluate talent and skill, as well as discover areas of weakness. The day will be modeled after the scouting combine that colleges and pros use, but with more of an emphasis on fun and teaching. They will be going through a series of drills that test their speed, agility, strength and intangibles. We’re looking for a big turn out to support our kids as they show their stuff on the football field! Updates will be coming soon.

As coaches and parents we want to use every resource we can to improve the kids experience as a Hening Redskin!! There is also a section at the end of the questionnaire where parents/players may leave a comment, so feel free to suggest any ideas you may have that will and to the experience.
